Showing My Work: Prediction for the Georgia Runoff Election
Timeline Spread, November 2020 - January 2021, Tabula Mundi deck
For someone with no interest in election predictions I’ve managed to write about it a lot. My motivations are obvious, the US election is a specific event that everyone on the planet recognizes so it seemed like a good hook on which to hang my psychic predictions. The downside of this tactic is the exhaustive election coverage means even non-psychics could make really good predictions.
She shrugs.
The final installment of the Showing My Work series ends with a prediction about the Georgia runoffs, scheduled to end January 5, 2021. Before I get to the prediction I’ll share important context and personal deliberations I made about this prediction.
I wouldn’t necessarily share personal beliefs on a blog that’s about my psychic work. I’m here to serve any client seeking guidance. However, the purpose of sharing my process is to demonstrate how psychic messages must filter through the den of cognitive noise within a psychic. If a psychic doesn’t inventory their biases then they’re vulnerable to distorted and misinterpreted predictions.
I, as a person (not as a psychic), hope there is a reversal of the Georgia Senate incumbents. It’s my personal opinion that the Republican control of the Senate does not benefit America. While the Democratic Party is flawed and in need of its own reform I think they’re better suited to get us through the COVID pandemic and pursue legislation that creates safeguards for Americans. I believe that for President-elect Biden to be effective as President there will need to be Democratic control of the Senate. In other times I wouldn’t necessarily be against Republican control of the Senate. I respect the Republican governors, mayors and city officials who responsibly oversaw their elections and I don’t want to broadly dismiss all Republicans. But, I have seen little to feel reassured that Republican senators will work with Biden for the benefit of the country.
Put simply, I want the Democratic challengers to win the Georgia Senate runoff and knowing I have this emotional investment means I might misinterpret the premonition. The stronger the emotion the bigger the distortion in the interpretation. I worry that my prediction is just an expression of a hope rather than psychic intelligence.
So, let’s get on with it. When I think about the Georgia runoff election I sense a Republican loss and that Republicans lose control of the Senate.
This brings me to a second important point about psychic predictions. My conscious mind, the predominantly analytical and logical brain, doesn’t have any practical hope there will be a Democratic victory with this runoff election. The general election showed us that Democrats were unable to gain ground with Senate control in other races.
There is a very real tug-of-war between my rational brain and my psychic brain. The conscious mind knows the odds of a Democratic win are low but my psychic mind tells me something else. It’s worthing noting that cynicism and skepticism also create distortions with psychic predictions. Let me explain.
Small Diversion Into a Cause of Wrong Predictions
My conscious mind is a big loud mouth. I got opinions. I got beliefs. I got ideas and my brain is constantly sorting through language and words and concepts. One such idea, and one of the biggest impediments to accepting my psychic abilities, was the resolute belief that psychics were phenomenal bullshitters. I’ve got many concerns about this industry and the people operating in it. No way did I want to be a part of it. Add to that my science degree in Microbiology and Cell Science, as well as my regard for Science in general, and I was a harsh critic of psychic phenomena. It took a mountain of personal experience to finally convince me that there was more to the parasensory than flat out denial. My prejudices against the field made it almost impossible for me to approach it with enough patience to try and understand.
The same thing is happening with this prediction. I have so much doubt that Democrats can win Georgia that when the premonition came through for a Democratic victory I immediately rejected it. I’d be crazy to predict this outcome.
Yet here I am timidly putting it out there for the world to judge. How did I decide that the premonition indicated Democratic victory? Onwards to the explanation!
Back to the Election Prediction
Emergence & Portals, New Era arrives January 2021
When we look at the January line of the Timeline Spread it’s an incontrovertible display of new beginnings. Three of the four tarot cards show us emergence. If you’re not familiar with tarot symbolism then you might not see it but a basic understanding of the cards shows us that January is the reset.
Particularly within the metaphysical community there’s so much talk of the “New Era” from astrologers, psychics, mystics, and on and on. I’ve also mentioned it because the message of a New Era has consistently, repeatedly presented in my readings for several months and as early as March. It’s almost a joke at this point…but it’s actually not a joke.
It’ not something I typically discuss or write about because it’s a big concept with few details to support it. Sure, it’s easy to think we understand what a New Era means but how exactly is a “New Era” experienced? What are its hallmarks? Will there be obvious markers when it commences? Heck if I know but even without concrete specifics, I believe it’s coming and it’s coming soon. We’re not talking, “new year new me New Eras”. We’re talking a seismic shift in collective consciousness (I warned you it was such an outrageously big concept). Generally it’ll be positive but not without pain…which leads me back to my prediction about the Georgia Senate runoff.
Three of Swords, omen of Sorrow
Returning to the cards in the January line, I emphasize those New Era cards to contrast how strikingly the second card stands out as an omen of Sorrow, otherwise known as the Three of Swords. This card corresponds to the week of the Georgia Runoff vote. In other words, in the first month of the new 2021 year we see three omens of new beginnings with a jarring disruption in the second week. I think that in the second week of January there will be a display of loss because of the Georgia Runoff vote.
I don’t know any Democrat who’s optimistic that Democrats gain control of the senate with this Georgia runoff election. Thus the notion that Democrats collectively express Sorrow doesn’t sit comfortably in my psychic mind. Sorrow is distress caused by loss and it’s an emotion Republicans would express in the face of defeat. In my psychic mind I just can’t see Democrats feeling sorrow. I can see them feeling resigned, but not despair or desolation. If Republicans indeed lose their seats I can see them feeling in crises, like their world is cracked, the rules didn’t bend for them and they didn’t get the outcome they demanded.
It’s akin to the way I interpreted the Three of Cups as a Democratic victory, it was about understanding the mood of the collective and how I saw that mood in the card. For Republicans that truly believed Trump would win the presidency a Georgia runoff loss would feel like a nail in the coffin for them. It’s a profound and sharp loss whereas I think many Democrats are assuming they’ll lose despite their efforts.
I can appreciate how tenuous this reads. I’m projecting a sentiment onto collective emotional registers for millions of people…and basing my prediction on it no less. What’s more, I had to make a connection from the 10th card pulled in a series of 12 random cards, correspond that 10th card to the second week of January, make the association with the Georgia Runoff then deliberate if the sentiment of that card suits the collective reaction of two groups.
I can honestly say that I constantly ask myself if I’m operating in the psychosis of A Beautiful Mind. Maybe. But for now I’m working with an idea that if there is psychic intelligence…how does it reach us when we have very noisy heads? If I, Kelly, have access to psychic intelligence what path would it have to travel in order to be heard and understood? Should it look like a 4D movie playing in my head? Would it be symbolically packaged? Would it be a voice reciting upcoming developments?
She shrugs. She writes. She documents what’s happening on the conscious end of things and then we’ll see.
I Doubt My Premonition
Here’s why I’m nervous about my own prediction…when I try to ‘visually see’ the headlines that call the election I don’t readily see the wording or the pictures. When I predicted the Biden win one of the experiences I pointed to in confirming that premonition was a clear image of Biden on inauguration day. When I struggle to ‘see’ an outcome it leads me to question the prediction, or there might be a twist that makes it less than certain.
I’m also worried that I’m over-confident in my abilities. So far the cards I pulled in the Timeline Spread have tracked with the lifecycle of election events and I’m at that tricky part where I can’t rely on how I feel when I make a prediction because I feel I’ve been accurate thus far so then I must be accurate now. I expand on this further on.
Which is to say that when I make a prediction I actually experience a quickening heartbeat and surging in my body. I think some people recognize it as a panic attack whereas I experience it as a communication from my body telling me how I’m doing with the prediction. When I shared this prediction with a small circle I felt that surge and body communication. The surge felt big and expansive and positive…but I’ve also experienced that big, expansive feelings when I was over-confident. Relying on emotions and how I feel are tricky signals to rely on…my feelings aren’t always an accurate indication for a reliable prediction. Often they are, but not always. Emotions are very much a function of human biology and as such, shouldn’t entirely be trusted without considerable self-awareness.
To wit, I saw several astrologers wrongly predict Trump would win the election and they looked how I feel about the Georgia runoff. They were outrageously confident and I see too much of myself in them with this prediction. It would be so great to get this prediction right. It’d shore up my psychic confidence and hopefully win over the psychic-curious, which is why I need to be extra careful about this prediction. Not only is a Democratic victory a personal hope for the country but I’d feel like Psychic of the Year and those desires can really trip up a prediction.
