UPDATE: Georgia Senate Runoff, Certification of Electoral College
Yesterday I stared at the tarot cards I pulled for January 2021, particularly the Three of Swords. The card corresponds to the week of January 5, which is the election date for the Georgia Senate runoff elections. It’s also the week the U.S. Congress certifies results of the Electoral College (January 6), formally acknowledging Biden’s win and proceeding with the transfer of power.
Based on the image for the Three of Swords, its meaning, and timing with the Georgia Senate runoff elections I sensed there might be a Democratic victory in that runoff election. Since the original prediction post I’ve continued to think about that Three of Swords card and realized it might have had a message not only for the runoff election but also for the certification of the electoral college.

Given the strong possibility that the electoral college certification is formally challenged it looks more and more likely the Three of Swords is also in play for that event. From the card’s image we have rules-oriented Saturn floating above the jar balancing on three swords of truth. To my eye these three swords correspond to the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the Electoral College. The jar is a fractured vessel containing the collective heart of our nation. Our heart rests on the actions of Senators, Representatives, and the Will of the People. But what holds us together is cracked. Below the jar scalding steam inflames accusations of a stolen election, while above the procedural Saturn grinds us forward.

This is excruciating pain to be burned from below and squeezed from above. The jar shows us we’re not entirely fractured, obliterated beyond repair but we are scarred. The augur of this card written by M.M. Meleen is, “…sorrow that leads to enlightenment.” What we fear will happen, will indeed occur. When we experience the most dreaded outcome we experience enlightenment. To note, the preceding Aeon card also depicts a fiery distillation, we see another container over a cosmic Bunsen burner of fiery water, catalyzing the metamorphosis. That the Three of Swords follows the catalysis of The Aeon reinforces that we are indeed under phenomenal, irrevocable change. Trial by fire. Forging a new identity. Confronting the reality of our fractured soul with harsh, unyielding truths. The fever breaks and we’ll be left in the cooling dawn of a new Era.
Updated Prediction for Georgia Senate Runoff
As mentioned earlier, my initial hit for this card landed with the Georgia Senate runoff elections. Because I had so much doubt about my original prediction I’ve occasionally checked in with myself in an attempt to understand the prediction. Several times between the original post and today I attempted to visualize the outcome. What that looks like in practice is me sitting in meditation or lying down, clearing my mind of clutter, and opening up to images of celebration.
Since I live in north Florida I see the bombardment of election commercials, which makes it easy to know all the faces of the candidates pretty clearly in my head. When I originally tried to visualize victory headlines for Republicans, I couldn’t see anything, which is my signal that victory is not guaranteed for them.
When I focus on the faces of Perdue and Loeffler now it literally feels like those images are being pulled out of my head. I ‘feel’ a force pulling their images into darkness. It feels like I’m being kept from seeing their images in my mind’s eye. I have the hardest time concentrating on their faces and I can't see them looking happy or relieved or victorious. Candidly, I’ve never had that happen before, where I felt like an image was being removed from my imagination. I’m not entirely sure what it means except that perhaps I’m not meant to see the outcome.
However, I also have a hard time seeing victory headlines for Ossoff and Warnock. For that visualization I imagine my tv screen on a cable news program like CNN or Fox News. I center myself in that visualization and when I do…I see nothing, I can’t see coverage or headlines indicating they won their elections.
Using Visualizations for Divination
Now, my difficulty with ‘seeing’ the election outcome can mean one of two things. Either I’m not meant to know the outcome or I’m not using the right ‘access points’ for visualizing election victory. By access points I mean having a good visualization, a mental image that’s easy to see in the mind and is attuned to the collective. In other words, in order to see an event in the future it requires knowing how an event will be collectively experienced. You need a feel for the collective temperament, how information spreads, how it’s expressed and how it might be covered. That’s why I use the visualization of seeing headlines, either in a news feed or on broadcast news. I ask, “How does an election victory look like in Georgia?”
New Tarot Pull for the Runoff Election
Given all my uncertainty and that I’m not getting much help from the visualizations I decided to pull cards specifically for the runoff results. It’s worthing noting that the original pull, for a timeline of November 2020 through January 2021, did not set an intention to understand the election outcomes. I pulled those cards asking, “What wants to be known about the next three months.”
For this new pull I asked, “What wants to be known about the runoff victory?” Notice both the specificity of asking about the runoff victory and that I didn’t ask about a specific party winning the election. I think this is crucial to accurate divination, it’s a fine balance of crafting queries that are specific but not too narrowly worded. Questions must be left open-ended because it’s possible that any outcome can happen, we don’t want to prejudice the divination with a leading question. However, I need to be specific enough that I’m asking about the election and its outcome.
Based on the cards I’m sticking with my original prediction that it’ll be a Democratic victory. The very first card is a striking unambiguous blue titled, “Truce”. In this instance I immediately key into the color blue as an omen of a Democratic victory along with the card’s title, “Truce”. Immediate hit is that Republicans will have a reluctant truce because of Democratic victory. These were sharp, strong hits. However, I felt a nudge to pull another card. The second card gave me an “Oh crap” moment because it’s a striking red card. This card immediately shouted, “Republican Fire”. So now I’m stuck with two cards with equivalent color potency and symbolism. Of course I pulled a third card and wouldn’t you know…it’s the very same card that prognosticated Biden’s victory. You can read about that prediction and see the card here. In short, I interpreted The Star card as Democratic victory during the general election. It’s re-appearance in this pull tells me there will likely be a Democratic victory in the Georgia runoff elections too. I’ll admit the appearance of a strong blue card titled “Truce” followed by the Star card do feel like powerful omens of a Democratic victory…but…
To be honest, I’m still doubtful of this prediction, especially because I have such difficulty visualizing the results for that day. Interpretation is the trickiest part of divination and I’m prepared to be wrong. I’d be foolish to think I’ll get every prediction right and will use this experience to better understand how they go right and when they go wrong.
