Showing My Work: Weekly Cards Predict Trump Concedes?
This is the second installment in my four part series on interpreting divination with tarot. Using examples from weekly tarot pulls I translate psychic insight using card symbolism, clairaudience, clairsentience and clairvoyance. It’s an exercise that maps conscious thoughts —> imagery —> interpretation and ultimately to applied divination.
Funnily enough, I previously trash-talked the unreliability of personal weekly divination in this blog post. Our lives aren’t so dynamic that we need weekly divination to foretell of fortune or ruin. The trash-talking didn’t dissuade me from continued experimentation with the Timeline Spread, first described here.
Timeline Spread for November 2020, December 2020, January 2021. Pulled October 25, 2020, click to enlarge
In this post I take a swing at seeing events for the week of November 23, 2020.
Points of Clarification:
The first tarot card is pulled October 25, 2020, using Tabula Mundi tarot deck in aforementioned Timeline Spread, Queen of Disks presents
Its crossing card, was pulled November 21, using the Rider Waite Smith (RWS) deck, Queen of Wands presents
This is not how I typically pull for a weekly divination. Usually both cards are pulled at the same time and from the same deck.
When I pulled for the Timeline Spread I asked, “What do I need to know about the next three months? What wants to be known?”
When I pulled the November 21 card I asked, “What should I know about the upcoming week?”
Queen of Disk crossed by Queen of Wands, Trump Concession? Finally?
When I pulled the Timeline Spread I expected to see stories about personal events. Instead, the psychic stream registered as election insight rather than personal insight. The first three tarot cards for November whispered to me a Biden win in the 2020 election and that the week of November 16 was an expression of “Failure”. You can read more about the first three cards in this post.
Instead of stringing together the psychic stream into a digested summary. I’m going to start very basic with the actual thoughts/words/phrases I heard. I’ll build from there.
When I originally interpreted tried to interpret the Queen of Disks card on October 25, it was flat out hard. I didn’t get sharp, clear hits for its meaning. The first three cards were easy for me once I ditched the personal orientation and considered the broader election context. I wondered, “What the heck does this horned lady have to do with the election?”
The first three cards felt dynamic…then there she pops up like a log in the road looking at the scene unfold. She was a hard brake in the story that told me Biden would push down Trump, followed by an election backlash. When I got to her I didn’t know what she was telling me about the election.I didn’t doubt that she belonged because each of the last three cards contained a shield. The continuity of shields across three consecutive cards nudged my mind to remain open to her significance in the context of those three cards. The shields were either a psychic clue or apophenia.
But I actually gave up on the interpretation that night because I was entirely stuck (not for nothing, court cards can be really tricky in readings!).
Revisiting her for this week’s exercise I had a much different reaction. The hits were stronger, clearer and I’ll run through the psychic thoughts, the short phrases that I mentally heard as I settled into Queen of Disks. This is actually where it all begins for me as a psychic, it’s called clairaudience, when you mentally hear a phrase.
Diversion: Clairaudience and Bicameralism
In my case it took a very long time and a shipping container amount of self-awareness to distinguish clairaudience from my own stream of mental thoughts. The psychic phrases I hear sound identical to my interior thoughts. Prior to studying precognition I didn’t even know it was possible to experience a thought stream separate from conscious thought.
In my studies I discovered the bicameralism (due largely to the title of a Westworld episode, The Bicameral Mind). The theory created an access point for accepting the possibility that we can contain separate streams of ‘voices’ in our conscious mind. Bicameralism does not explain clairaudience, rather, it attempts to explain how schizophrenia evolved in the modern brain. I should create a post for this topic. It’s fascinating.
Anyways, back to the psychic phrases I heard. Below I list those phrase and I’ll then explain which thoughts I agree with and which thoughts I’m unsure are meaningful.
Tabula Mundi Queen of Disks
Phrases Heard When Settling Into Card:
Trump Concedes
Institution
Female
Time stops, time runs out
Change stops
Cannot be changed
Resonant Imagery & Symbols:
Queen holds a shield representing elements of alchemy, symbolizing transformation of matter (corresponding to idea of change, manipulation to change outcomes)
Goat’s Head, Horns (corresponding to stubborn, immovable)
The hourglass (corresponds to “time runs out”)
Pyramid mounds in background (correspond to “institutions”)
The direction of the Queen positions her to look at the events of the prior three weeks. Her position halts the expression of Failure.
Color Black: Connects the background of “Failure” and the Queen cards
The card feels heavy. Attributed to card’s perspective centered on Queen along with the density of black and green
Also suggesting heaviness is the heavy lids of the Queen
Now On To The Interpretation
As I write this blog, and as I gaze upon the card, I feel* very strongly Trump will formally concede this week. The whole effort to have states reverse their election certifications ends. The change he seeks (alchemy, reversing what has already materialized in votes) hits a brick wall (Queen figure). With the hourglass I heard the phrase, “time has run out”, which does coincide with the deadlines to certify the votes. This is an example where I think conscious knowledge of events marries with the psychic stream to sharpen the insight being gleaned in divination.
*In this context ‘feel’ isn’t an expression of an opinion or a substitute for saying “I think”. I literally mean that as I write I feel an enormous surging/expansion sensation at the base of my throat. This surging feeling corresponds to parasensory phenomena that isn’t clairaudience, it’s a independent sensation that operates outside conscious thought.
But it’s not just that actual deadlines are upon us, the presence of this calm, female figure whispers that institutions have lost patience with President Trump’s efforts and tire of him. He cannot bulldoze his ego through the institutions. This week we’ve already seen several GOP senators and others call for the transition to be honored. I believe this chorus will grow next week, perhaps with the GSA relenting and releasing transition funds. I include the GSA as an example of how ‘institutions’ will act in a way to move forward with the transition, it’s not to say I saw this happening.
Here’s Where I Disagree with My Intuition
I sense the ending to Trump’s tactics but I have reservation about Trump actually conceding. Even though I heard the phrase, “Trump concedes” I have my doubts because there’s nothing in the card image that bridges to masculine energy, no symbolism of loss or admitted defeat. Queen of Disks tells the part of the story about how the environment, the institutions respond to Trump but there is nothing in that card that actually represents Trump. So yeah, I have my doubts that he’ll actually concede even though I heard the phrase.
It’s a classic tug-of-war between the conscious mind and the psychic sensing. It’s also the proverbial dilemma of a psychic doubting herself because this part of the divination, hearing “Trump concedes”, could be a projection of my conscious mind and its desire for this limbo to end.
Also important to this interpretation are the cards that follow the Queen of Disks, Victory (Six of Wands) and Strength (Nine of Wands). Even those these cards appear in the December set a feature of the Timeline Spread is that cards are strung together if the story supports it. Once there is an end to the expression of Failure we collectively move on to better experiences. There is an observable shift in color scales, in card meanings and an obvious pivot from the heaviness of Trump’s failure. This pivot in energy supports the interpretation that Misery Mirage will burn off next week and we move on to the next phase in the election cycle.
Understanding the Crossing Card
Like last week, I interpret the second card, the crossing card, as a designation of me rather than interpret it as a second election-related card. In this type of reading, where I pull a Timeline card and now cross it with a card from a different stream (if we’re getting metaphysical here, and we are very much getting metaphysical), then I interpret the cards as two separate events that intersect, rather than seeing it as my card crossing the Queen of Disks.
I asked, “What do I need to know about this week?” and I pulled “Queen of Wands”.
RWS Queen of Wands
Honestly, I rarely get psychic hits with this card and tend to roll into its traditional definition as I understand it. I guess I’d say it’s not a very psychic-active card for me…although do note the synchronicity of pyramid mounds behind this Queen figure as well as Queen Disk.
Resonant Imagery & Symbols:
Midsommar’s May Queen image flashed in mind
Also, Dolores from Westworld popped into my mind as I typed
Black cat
Sunflowers
Blue sky
Phrases Heard & Seen When Settling Into Card:
Spa, as I pulled this card I had a moment of clairalience and smelled the spa where I do tarot readings in Jacksonville
Saw Dani from Midsummer as a flash image, movie ends with sacrificial fire
Saw Dolores from Westworld, the protagonist seeking to burn down the world and start anew
When Queen of Wands pops up it’s the arrival of charismatic energy. She’s a magnetic pull drawing in people. It’s the spark of catalytic energy that changes and charges the room upon arrival.
As she moves through the world she leaves an imprint that makes others restless to move too. Whereas last week was about providing assistance through communication and discernment, this week is about catalyzing through the expression of will and the pursuit what’s wanted. The suit of Wands represents Fire and Ego, Wands say, “I want.” In the Queen position she’s attained and now redirects that achievement back into the world.
When (problematic) court cards pop up in a spread they aren’t describing a situation or event happening. Instead either a person inserts themselves into your life or you exhibit a trait of the card. A follow up question upon encountering a court card like the Queen of Wands is to ask, “How does this persona/trait influence my short term trajectory?”
This Blog Post is Revising Itself As It’s Being Written
As I write this blog the divination refines itself, especially when considering I ‘saw’ two types of very dangerous women, Dani from Midsummer and Dolores from Westworld. For anyone that’s seen Midsommar then the Wand/Fire symbolism won’t escape you and Dolores wants to burn her world down and kick off a New Era in Westworld.
Recall I also heard the phrase “Female” and now I ‘see’ two women in a tarot pull with two Queens. Yet both women are deeply dangerous. I’m revising my construct that I’m unsure if the crossing card is a personal card for me this week, even though I set the intention for personal insight.
Hmmm…will a Dani/Dolores woman take the stage this week? Fire. Burn it down. Pyrrhic victory? I mean at this point I’m kinda free association writing and thinking, a very messy divination but this is how actual divination comes through it’s a chain of thought association. It’s hard to till if it’s divination or the random thought generator of my mind.
All this is to say that the original intention was to interpret the crossing card as a personal card rather than election card. But, as I was writing the blog post the hits described a person acting on a bigger stage, a larger platform than my small footprint so I’m less inclined to understand the Queen of Wands through a personal lens.
