Weekly Tarot Pulls Are Unreliable, Read Mine for Week of November 2 UPDATED
I get little psychic value out of monthly/weekly/daily pulls. I tried making it a thing but after three years of committed practice I can candidly say these calendar pulls rarely forecast noteworthy events.
If only I could get a weekly advantage with psychic divination.
My lived experience tells me though that tarot and psychic ability don’t disclose most events, let alone weekly updates. (Although there was that one time I pulled 3 of Swords the same day I parted ways with my employer.) This is a bold statement for a psychic to make. Yes. Perhaps it even goes against her own self-interests. Yes again. Let me explain.
I believe psychic intelligence arrives on a need-to-know-basis. When we receive legitimate psychic guidance it’s to aid us as we move through a consequential moment where the outcomes very much alter the trajectory ahead of us. Whether you receive that message in a professional reading or intuitive knowledge the knowledge surfaced so that you could navigate through the situation well.
I don’t think psychic knowledge is necessarily always ‘on’ in the sense of getting a weekly psychic agenda. I think psychic knowledge is doled out when we’re at a pivotal moment rather than distributed as a readily available psychic snack for bypassing the vagaries of life.
As such I think that’s why weekly divination isn’t reliable. Not because psychic knowledge is bogus but because it’s the rare individual who’s juggling life-altering decisions on a weekly basis. The beats of my life are quiet and repetitive and when I worked for 15 years in corporate America I observed the routines of a Monday - Friday work schedule broken up with two days of binge television. Every few months I questioned my life purpose but I wasn’t changing cities or frequently changing careers or religions. There were times I desperately needed something to change in my life and I’d cling to the Universe card thinking I was getting ready to take off and beat the funk! But nothing actually happened that week. No noteworthy events or changes. Just the same same.
Of course there’s always an exception to a point being made and of course this is no different. Sure, there were weeks when the cards nailed it. I’d pull a daily card on my way out the door and hours later I was living the story of that card. However, those bullseye moments were far fewer than than all the misses. I came to tire of it and realized that the tarot deck was not always an appropriate divination tool for weekly planning despite what tarot books told me.
If your life is in flux, either because of organic chaos or because you’re impulsive then perhaps a daily or weekly pull could help. For the rest of us living under a bell curve of tedium weekly pulls can set us up for disappointment because we’re forcing a metaphysical agent into a quotidian routine.
Weekly Tarot for November 2, 2020
Still…here’s a couple of cards supposedly for the week. What’s cool about the “Simple Cross” is that it can be a jumping off point for personal contemplation. In this case the blue Star card in the background, represents a dimension of your interior life. The ‘crossing’ card, Sun in the foreground, represents an external dimension, event or influence. Traditionally it’s a force that opposes you but can be complimentary pending interpretation.
An ultra-literal interpretation could be a comment on daylight savings with the twilight and daylight shift. In the northern hemisphere our bodies, minds and sleeping selves have extended time in darkness which is crossed by limited solar illumination. Circadian pacing is a consequential influence this week.
A metaphysical interpretation would nudge me into cosmology/astrology and check how the Sun is aspected to natal planets.
Finally, a spiritual spin surfaces awareness of unconscious calm that structures my consciousness. My consciousness spends more time in the darkness making me prone to shadows, illusions and mirages that rather than being detrimental are illuminating for navigation of consciousness.
11/23/20 UPDATE for What Actually Happened the Week of November 2
So you could (fairly) accuse this update of being a retroactive prediction, where I look at transpired events and stretch the card meanings to sync up with events. I’ll leave it up to you decide but I still want to include it as an update.
On October 25, I pulled a Timeline Spread of 12 cards corresponding to the upcoming 12 weeks, equivalent to seeing the timeline for the next three months of November, December and January. In that Timeline Spread I saw Biden winning the election and the tarot card that was my Biden surrogate was the Star card. You can see and read about this Timeline Spread and prediction here.
As we now all know, Election Day was Tuesday, November 3, and the election results were called on Saturday, November 7. I think it can be reasonably argued that this weekly pull showed Biden, as The Star card, being triumphant as seen in the Sun card. The visual cues from the Sun card include two snakes (wearing crowns) facing off with the bright, radiant color scale of the Sun card suggesting an emanation of success or achievement. To note, both cards are from the Major Arcana, which designates Life Altering events (at least in my tarot practice).
Now, in full disclosure, there was no way I was going to boldly publish a prediction of Biden winning with just these two cards. I don’t have the cajones for that level of Sylvia Brown spectacle! I also didn’t trust my election prediction either. Like most Americans I had deeply invested emotions in the election outcome and distrusted that I could accurately read the tea leaves, so to speak.
Now I don’t think a lay person could look at these cards and go, “Oh yeah, Kelly’s weekly divination totally nailed a Biden win” (although, ahem, I did do that on September 19).
Tarot cards are inherently symbolic so having any confidence of a 1:1 interpreted prediction to literal event is a strained exercise at best. However, for those familiar with tarot cards and those that read through my election documentation I think I’ve made a good faith argument that these two specific cards also foretold the election win. There is a chain of documentation where I wrote in September and October that Biden would win the election. This chain also references the use of the Star card as a designation of Biden in my interpretations.
